AI shapes our worldview, so who chooses the AI?

The United States is, without doubt, a success story, and one that people from all over the world helped build.

Millions emigrated and built America as a better solution for their time. Those who stayed at home stayed for something too: their culture, their languages, their way of life. Both choices were legitimate, and both shaped who we are today.

Today the most widely used AI tools come from the United States and China. They are impressive achievements, built by talented people, and using them is not a bad thing. But they carry the language, priorities and perspectives of the places where they were made.

On 18 February 2026, according to Reuters, the US government instructed its diplomats to argue against digital sovereignty initiatives in EU countries. Every country promotes its own industry, which is normal. It simply means the question of which AI we use will not answer itself.

The people most affected by that answer are our children, and the workers whose jobs AI changes first. Both deserve to understand the tools that shape their future, and that is what we teach.
