Damage map — pick a house to rebuild
In build · updated 2026-08-14
Donors don't want "another rebuild fund". They want to point to a specific house and say I paid for that one.
Why now. RAAIRO's Cali + Quibdó damage register is already collecting the raw data — GPS, photos, family, structural report, cost estimate. It's sitting in a spreadsheet waiting to become a map.
What we'd build. A public map, one pin per damaged home:
- Click a pin: photos (before / after / progress), family context, structural report, cost estimate, current funding %.
- Choose an amount → checkout on Stripe or HappyPot → funds held under that specific address in a segregated wallet until the mason starts.
- Progress photos ship to the donor as the rebuild goes. Public reconciliation on /earthquake-colombia.
- No pooling across addresses without the donor's explicit consent — money follows the pin.
Why it wins. Direct-mapping donors give 3–5× more than pool donors — verified in past disaster crowdfunding. And the public reconciliation becomes the trust anchor for every other RAAIRO donation channel.
👍 Like this concept to help us fund it.
